You might have noticed that we don't have a pride collection this year, and I wanted to recognize that this is intentional. 

 

For context, I'm a white cis heterosexual woman, so it's always felt a little weird for me to sell pride merchandise. It felt like I was profiting off a marginalized community that I'm not directly a part of (aside from being an ally!), even when donating those profits to LGBTQ+ organizations. This month shouldn't be a marketing ploy or hollow display of corporate pride. However, as an ally, I felt equally as weird NOT having a collection at a time when so many big stores are being pressured to remove pride merchandise from their shelves.

 

So instead I've decided to go straight to the source and promote some amazing LGBTQ+ owned pet businesses that you should shop, not just this month but all year round! Yes, their products overlap with ours but I firmly believe in community over competition, and there's room enough out there for all of us.
